Where do I send my submissions?

Please send submissions to honeyfirelit@gmail.com, following our submission guidelines.

How many submissions can I send?

For each call for submissions, we ask that you send a maximum of 3 pieces altogether, across any & all mediums of art.

Can I submit again if I've been published with you before?

Yes! Being featured in one of our issues before doesn't stop you from submitting again.

Can I use a pseudonym?

Yes. Honeyfire has published several people anonymously or using pseudonyms. We ask that you please specify what name you would like to published under in your submission email, as this saves time, but you don't need to give any explanation at all, and we won't ask.

How long are your submission response times?

Normally we start replying to submissions in the days running up to the deadline. Please bear in mind that I am the sole editor and I am also a full time uni student, so I thank you for your patience re: response times :)

What do you look for in a submission?

For UNTOLD, we look for articles, pieces of prose or personal essays about anything that is not often talked about in society or in media. The more well-structured, poetically written, and moving the piece, the better!

For our issues, we look for poetry, prose, art or photography relating to the issue's theme that makes us feel something. In terms of art and photography, we love work that translates emotion into the visual, and we love collage art. Writing-wise, one of the first things we look for is whether or not a piece ends on a strong note, and we usually gravitate towards work with a confessional quality.
